# Project decision record

This document contains a fictional example followed by a blank template. Copy it without an account. It does not describe a Stellary customer result.

## Filled example: a delayed API threatens a customer export

- Goal: make orders available to the customer on Friday.
- Available fact: the supplier reports a three-day delay to the export API.
- Impact: automated export may miss the milestone; other features do not depend on this API.
- Options: delay delivery; ship without export; offer a checked manual export.
- Proposed choice: ship unaffected features and prepare the manual export, subject to customer acceptance.
- Decision owner: product owner. Customer approval is still outstanding.
- Delivery owner: the export team; name the actual person in the project.
- Check: on Thursday, open the file with test orders and verify columns, totals, duplicates and access controls.
- Fallback: agree a new export date if the check fails or the customer rejects the format.
- Decision status: proposed, not accepted.
- Sources: in a real project, link the supplier response, affected cards and acceptance check. These records are not supplied in this fictional example.
