Board & Cards
The board is the heart of Stellary. Organize your tasks across five powerful views, track progress with detailed cards, and stay in control of every aspect of your projects.
Create a Project
From the Dashboard, click "New project". Give it a name — that's all it takes.
Stellary automatically creates a board with default columns that you can customize. Every card in the project receives an auto-incremented prefix (e.g., PROJ-1, PROJ-2) so you can reference tasks quickly.
Scopes & Views
Each project can contain multiple scopes — think of them as work packages or phases. Every scope has its own set of columns and its own views, so you can break down large projects into manageable sections without losing the big picture.
Stellary provides five view types, and you can switch between them at any time:
Kanban
Drag-and-drop columns for visual workflow management.
List
Sortable rows with grouping, bulk actions, and inline editing.
Calendar
Monthly grid showing cards by due date.
Roadmap
Timeline with phases generated by the AI wizard.
Stats
Metrics dashboard with distribution charts and completion trends.
Kanban View
The classic board layout. Cards are displayed in columns that represent your workflow stages. Drag a card from one column to another to update its status — the move is instant (optimistic UI) with no need to wait for the server.
You can also reorder cards within a column and rearrange columns between each other.
List View
A tabular view with sortable columns for title, priority, assignee, dates, and more. The list view is ideal when you need to scan many tasks at once.
- Grouping — group cards by column, priority, assignee, or label for a structured overview
- Bulk actions — select multiple cards and update them in one go
- Inline editing — change a field directly in the table row without opening the card detail panel
Calendar View
A monthly grid that displays cards by their due date. Navigate between months and click on a card to edit it. Cards without a due date do not appear in this view.
Roadmap View
A timeline view that visualizes your project phases on a horizontal axis. Phases can be generated automatically using the AI wizard, which analyzes your project context and suggests a structured plan with milestones and dates.
Use the roadmap to communicate high-level progress to stakeholders or to plan long-term work.
Stats View
A metrics dashboard for your project. The stats view shows distribution of cards across columns, priorities, and assignees, along with completion trends over time.
Use it to identify bottlenecks, track velocity, and get a data-driven picture of your project health.
Columns
Columns represent the stages of your workflow. You can:
- Add a column by clicking the "+" on the right side of the board
- Rename a column by clicking on its title
- Change icon & color to visually distinguish each stage
- Reorder columns via drag and drop
- Delete a column (cards it contains will be deleted)

Cards (Tasks)
Each card represents a task. To create one, click "+ Add a card" at the bottom of a column, enter a title, and press Enter. Every card is automatically assigned a unique prefix based on your project (e.g., PROJ-42).
Cards have a status that reflects their lifecycle: open, in progress, done, or cancelled. Click on a card to open its detail panel with all fields and activity.
Card Details

Great, adding mobile mockups now.
Click on any card to open its detail panel. Here are the fields available:
Priority
Four levels: None, Low, Medium, and High. The priority badge is visible directly on the card.
Start & Due Dates
Set a start date and a due date. Overdue cards are flagged automatically so nothing slips through.
Assignee
Assign a team member. Their avatar appears on the card for instant visibility.
Labels
Tag cards with colored labels for quick categorization. Labels are defined at the project level.
Custom Fields
Define project-level custom fields: text, number, select, multi-select, date, or boolean. They appear in the card detail panel.
Description
Rich Markdown description for detailed specifications, notes, or acceptance criteria.
Subtasks & Checklists
Break work down further with two complementary tools:
- Checklists — add items, check or uncheck them, and track completion. A progress percentage is displayed directly on the card so you can see status at a glance.
- Subtasks — create child cards that appear nested under the parent card. Each subtask is a full card with its own priority, assignee, dates, and all other fields.
Use checklists for quick to-do items and subtasks when the work needs its own tracking and detail.
Card Relations
Link cards together to express dependencies and relationships. Stellary supports four relation types:
Comments & Attachments
Collaborate directly on cards:
- Comments — discuss on any card. Each comment displays the author and timestamp. Only the comment author can delete their own comments. Comments are paginated for performance on busy cards.
- Attachments — upload files up to 10 MB each. Download, preview, or delete attachments from the card detail panel.
Activity Timeline
Every card maintains a complete activity timeline. All changes are tracked automatically: creation, column moves, status updates, assignment changes, comments, and attachments.
The timeline gives your team full transparency on what happened, when, and by whom — no more guessing who changed what.
Filters & Search
Use the filter bar at the top of the board to narrow down your cards:
- Text search — search by title or description
- Column filter — select one or more columns to display
- Label filter — multi-select labels to find tagged cards
Filters combine and apply in real time across all views.
Import & Export
- Export — download a complete JSON snapshot of your project (columns, cards, metadata)
- Import — create a new project from a JSON file with columns and cards
- Duplicate — clone a project structure (columns only, without cards)
